Countertops

Stainless Steel Countertops-

“Did you know that Stainless Steel can be produced in a variety of finishes and textures? A recent New York Magazine feature on Stainless Steel describes it as a “Visual Antidepressant” and shows such applications as chairs and coffee tables along with the more typical gourmet kitchens”

“Stainless steel is essentially a low carbon steel which contains chromium at 10% or more by weight. it is this addition of chromium that gives the steel its unique stainless, corrosion resisting properties. The chromium content of the steel allows the formation of a rough, adherent, invisible, corrosion-resisting chromium oxide film on the steel surface. If damaged mechanically or chemically, this film is self-healing.

Wood Countertops and Butcher Blocks are hygienic. A New York study found that “the cellular structure of Maple is actually Bacteriostatic” (kills germs). Most woods in fact have the same quality.

Concrete Countertops -

Concrete countertops may be formed and inlayed. The top is intended to look like used leather. This is a warm surface that guests often reach out to touch.

Concrete is an innovative change from the other traditional countertop materials.

Glass Countertops -

Glass countertops offer a totally unique appearance and a total departure from the granite or synthetic stones that have been so popular.

Available in many thicknesses from 1/4″ – 5″ glass is extremely versatile and provides an almost endless array of colors and textures that will add the perfect personal touch to your new kitchen.

Glass is extremely hard and durable. With the right finish and texture choice scratches and finger prints are nearly invisible. Due to its non porous nature glass is also an extremely hygienic choice for kitchen coutertops.
