Leibherr Recalls Refrigerators for Door Problem
The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of about 2700 refrigerators manufactured by Liebherr-Hausgeraete Ochsenhausen GmbH, of Germany. The 24″ wide built in refrigerators have a problem with the pins that secure the door in place. The potential exists for the door to come loose causing possible injury to consumers.
This recall follows a much larger recall from Viking Range Corp. in June of 09 for a similar issue involving over 45,000 units.
The Liebherr recall involves their 24″ single door unit with the following model numbers: R1400, RI1400, RB1400, and RBI1400. These refrigerators were sold as stand alone units and as a component of the side-by-side models. The side-by-side models affected are: SBS240, SBS24 I0, SBS245, SBS24I5.
Here is the specific issue with the refrigerator door.
